OUR FABRICS

We believe in full transparency and have made a commitment to keeping you informed about each and every aspect of your garment.

We spend days, weeks, months hunting down the most eco-friendly fabrics we can find, primarily we focus on sourcing luxurious hemp fabrics but along our journey we are finding it difficult to find colourful hemp fabrics that meet our ethics + sustainability policies, therefore we have added some new all natural fabrics to our SS19 collection, we hope you LOVE them as much as we do!

We have made it our mission to produce with only the highest quality fabrics, that come from trusted sources. Our fabrics are all certified with either GOTS or OEKO-TEX. This is important to us as we are supporting ethical business practices, as well as providing our customers with a transparent link to holistic information about their product and confidence in what they are supporting.

HEMP AND ALL ITS WONDERS

HEMP FABRIC

Hemp is a MAGICAL plant in terms of sustainability. Hemp can be cultivated to be used for food, paper, textiles, bio fuel, industrial building materials, insulation etc. For thousands of years people have been working with hemp as a resource and gift from the earth, using every part of the plant.

Hemp as a plant is extremely hardy and resilient to pests, which eliminates the need and use of harmful chemical pesticides. Hemp is a high yielding plant which reaches maturity  within 100-120 days, reaching heights of up to 4.5m. This means hemp uses considerably less resources such as water, land and fertilisers to cultivate and grow. Hemp is therefore a plant that naturally partners with organic growing practices - making its environmental footprint insignificant compared to that of other fibres.
Hemp fibre produces an amazing natural textile with numerous properties and characteristics that make it completely eco-friendly, biodegradable and easy to wear.

We love hemp because it is naturally UV resistant, protecting its wearer from the sun. Hemp is water absorbent and breathable, which allows for the textile to give a cooling effect when worn in summer. It is also naturally insulating for the winter months. Hemp bacteria and mold resistant, which keeps hemp odour free. Hemp is one of the strongest and most durable natural textiles, which gives garments made with hemp an exceptionally long life-cycle. Hemp softens beautifully and strengthens over time, becoming more luxurious after each wash.

LINEN

LINEN FABRIC FIBRE

Linen is an all natural, eco-friendly fiber made from the flax plant, if left it will completely biodegrade returning as a nutrient to the soil. Linen is one of the strongest fiber's making it last a lifetime, so it's no surprise that linen is an ancient fabric that has been used for centuries all over the world. We love linen because it has unique properties that adapt to the body's needs; in the summer linen allows air to pass through the fiber, keeping you cool and fresh. In the winter (much like hemp) it acts as an insulator maintaining the body's warm temperature. Linen will soften after each wash but never loose its quality, ensuring that your linen garment lasts a lifetime.

ORGANIC COTTON

ORGANIC COTTON

Cotton is another natural fiber commonly known for its magnificently soft properties. Cotton drapes easily over the skin and has the ability to be woven into a number of different textures. We use organic cotton to ensure our commitment to sustainability- when grown organically cotton is much less harmful to the planet and the people working with it. Organic cotton is biodegradable and can return to the earth without harm as there are no pesticides and fertiziler's used in the growing and processing phases.

We love organic cotton because of its versatility, soft-to-touch feel and its hypo-allergenic properties
